Pitchonnet ? Dabur spreads its beauty retail business; to add 30 ...

Indian FMCG company, Dabur, is all set to expand the reach of its beauty and personal care retail stores NewU across the Indian market. It rolled out two new outlets in Delhi with an aim to up the number from 44 to 74 outlets in the next one year.

Inaugurating the new stores in the posh localities of Khan Market and Defence Colony, Dabur India Group Director, PD Narang said, ?New U is a place where women and girls of all ages have fun shopping because it offers all the beauty products they love and more, under a single roof. The addition of these new stores to our expanding retail network further establishes New U as the market leader and the preferred beauty retailer in the country.? Spread over a combined area of close to 1,200 sq ft, the two stores, as the company claims, have the largest range of beauty care products from across the globe under a single roof. It was reported earlier that the brand has scaled down the size of its retail outlets in order to maximise returns.

To further tap online consumers in India, the company is also planning to launch an online shopping portal for the NewU portfolio of brands. Earlier, last year the FMCG major had launched an e-portal for its in-house beauty products range ? Dabur Uveda ? under www.daburuveda.com, to push consumption for its Ayurvedic range of offerings.

To engage consumers on a broader scale, NewU has been offering loyalty programmes to customers in the form of assured free gifts, loyalty points and discounts & deals on various brands. The beauty & lifestyle retail chain, time and again, also offers free makeover sessions for women customers in association with cosmetics brand Maybelline.

The current portfolio of brands under NewU includes Dabur?s own private label, NewU, range of affordably priced cosmetics such as nail paints, facial kits and hair accessory among others.? Other than that, the outlets offer a vast range of other cosmetics and personal care brands like Neutrogena, Maybelline, Chambor, Revlon, Lakme? and Pond?s, among many others. In addition, New U has brought some premium international beauty brands like Beauty Formulas and QVS for the first time to Indian consumers and hosts these brands exclusively in its stores.

The company further states, ?The New U stores will offer the discerning consumer a wide selection of brands in categories as diverse as cosmetics, skin care, hair care, fragrances, herbal care, beauty implements & accessories, gifts & confectionery, and men & children toiletries. The store?s ?tone and manner? has been created to provide customers with a ?total shopping experience?; an organised and modern interior offering a relaxed, soothing ambience for customers to discover a new world of beauty in their own time.?

The beauty retail chain is currently operated by H&B Stores, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dabur India.
